Hey Ben, so it looks like the problem resides in “wp-includes/class-IXR.php”, to which I found a potential solution here: “Windows Live Writer not uploading images to your WordPress blog? Here’s the fix.”. I’m going to see if it works later tonight, and if I can confirm the fix, I’ll let you know

It might be worth trying to automate your backups on a nightly basis. There is a great plugin that does that here. Compatible with 2.3.1 too. I would love to take the credit for it but its not my work. Good looking blog btw.

Ack! So it looks like I’m using WordPress 2.2.x instead of 2.3.1 — looks like it’s time to upgrade — that and I found out that there are some issues with using Windows Live Writer with WordPress (has to do with the xmlrpc.php file).

I have 2.3.1 running on my site at the momment – but unfortunately I don’t have access to the logs on my server. Thanks for the head’s up though!

I think you should upgrade to 2.3.1 there is some issue with XML-RPC check the support forums.

Any hint from the server logs.
